中でも80sロックファン、ギタープレイヤー悲しませたのがエドワード・ヴァン・ヘイレン氏だったのではないでしょうか？

右手も使ってピアノの様にギターをプレイするタッピング（ライトハンド奏法）で一世を風靡したギタリストだけに世界中に大きく報道されました。

「ヘビィメタル」と言われたりもしますが、ヴァン・ヘイレンはハードなサウンドのロックンロールバンドだと思っています。50sや60sのキンクスやロイ・オービソンなどのカバー曲も演奏していますし、エディ自身も初期のインタビューで「ロックンロールに興奮を取り戻す」と語っています。

タイトル通り小さなおもちゃのギターを使って演奏します。そのため派手なギターソロはありませんが、エディが音楽を楽しむ、と言うことを身を持って表現してくれていますよ。
